The Muthoot Finance Cochin International Half Marathon was first held on December 29, 2013. In 2014, the event was held on December 7 and had a total participation of 20,000 plus runners.
Top International and Indian Athletes participated in the event, which had a Prize purse of Rs 1 Crore .
In the first year, Milkha Singh and Superstar Mohanlal were the brand ambassadors for the Cochin International Half Marathon. In 2014, Mohanlal was joined by cricketer Harbhajan Singh to promote the event.
The Mayor of Cochin was the Chief Patron and was personally involved in the project.
Brands like Muthoot Finance, Malyalam Manorama, Skoda, Le Meridien and Reebok were associated with the race .
